Hello! You don't know me, but I wanted to say hello for a few reasons. First, I discovered your blog by following a link from a comment you posted on Dogwood Dell's blog (Dogwood and Mrs. Dell are friends of mine). So point #1 is that you have a really godd blog, chock full of fascinating stuff. Lots of things I am interested in.
Secondly, the world is a small place (and Columbia is even smaller). I'm pretty positive that I saw you yesterday at the premiere of the China documentary on USC's campus. I am a tall thin bald guy and was sitting off to your right. I smiled at you a few times (and I hope I wasn't creepy!), but I put 2 and 2 together on who you were. I was marveling at the fact that I just happened to follow a link to your blog and not even two weeks later I am sitting 10 feet from you. Life is funny.
I would have introduced myself to you after the fact and told you this in person, but alas, I had class last night and had to leave in the middle of the film.
Anyway, keep up the good work. You seem to be neck-deep in all sorts of wonderful things.
Yep, that was me (and Alden, and Zion until her dad rescued her - or me:). I remember you - and no, no creepy feelings! Hope we meet again soon. Laura, the filmmaker, is a friend and we were in China at the same time last year. warmly, h
