Tradition was marred this Thanksgiving when my mother decided not cook the traditional feast. We instead went to Grandma and Grandpa's restaurant at their retirement village. I thought David would boycott, but then Mom said she would make the bird on Friday. Black Friday.
Friday tradition remained intact. The more adventurous get up at 4am and rocket our credit cards into the red, but only after staying up very late the night before hanging out together. This year was almost tragic for me, as I left my wallet in South Carolina. Somehow I managed to spend regardless.
If I can find it, I want to post about our Great Thanksgiving in the DR a few years back. It was not actually on Thanksgiving, since we didn't have a way to keep the turkey cold. And, it was dark because there wasn't electricity. But, much fun was had by all.
